JMP at VCU
VCU has obtained a JMP site license from SAS. Funding for this site license has been provided by the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health and by Technology Services.
JMP obtained under the VCU site license can be used:
1. By downloading JMP to your workstation or laptop:
Both Windows and Mac platforms are available for download.
Free JMP Licenses for campus and home use are available to current VCU faculty, staff and students.

2. By CD exchnage:
You may obtain a pre-copied JMP8.0.1 for Windows installation CD from the Technology Services Help Desk in Cabell B-30 or Sanger B1-018k during walk-in hours, at no charge. You must bring a blank CD-R disk (16X speed or higher, no CD-RWs or DVDs) to exchange for the installation CD. If no pre-copied stock is on hand at the time of your request, you can leave your contact information, and you will be advised when you can return with the blank CD-R disk to pickup the pre-copied JMP 8.0.1 installation CD.
3. On the App2Go Citrix Server for researchers
VCU researchers can access JMP via the App2Go Citrix Server.
When you use JMP on the App2Go server, it appears to be running on your PC.
You can open and save files on your PC and print on your PC.
Five (5) concurrent use licenses of JMP are available for use by VCU researchers
on the App2Go Server.
JMP 8.0.1 for Windows patch (for JMP 8.0 for Windows installs):
- Download the JMP 8.0.1 for Windows Patch to your desktop
- Double click on JMP_801_AL_Updater.exe on your desktop
In the WinZip Self Extractor windows select the Unzip button
When the message " 35 files(s) unzipped successfully" appears, select the OK button - In Windows Explorer double click on C:\jmp_801_al_updater\setup.exe
Follow on screen prompts to install the JMP 8.0.1 for Windows patch - After a successful launch of JMP 8, delete:
- JMP_801_AL_Updater.exe on your desktop
- C:\jmp_801_al_updater folder
Renewing JMP licenses:
JMP licenses expire annually on January 30th and must be renewed for JMP to continue to run.
